I come to you, anywhere on the Sunshine Coast and through the hinterland.
Every session is gentle, hands-on and led by the animal.

The method

How does Bowen therapy work
for horses and dogs?

Bowen is derived from the human technique developed by Tom Bowen here in Australia. It is gentle, non-invasive, and it works with the body rather than against it.

Soft tissue moves

I apply precise, non-forceful rolling moves across specific cross-fibre points over muscles, tendons and fascia. By taking up the slack in the skin and applying subtle pressure, these moves mobilise the tissue fibres without using force.

Strategic pauses

Between sets of moves I pause, typically for up to a minute. That gap lets the nervous system process the signal and shift out of fight-or-flight into the relaxed state where healing happens.

Fascial and neurological release

The specialised moves target the feedback loops within the fascial network, applied at specific points on muscles, tendons and ligaments. The therapy can help improve both muscle and joint function, and have positive effects on general health.

Testimonials

What owners say

I can’t thank you enough for the difference Bowen therapy made for my Mastiff, Luna. Dealing with her hip dysplasia had been tough seeing her struggle with stiffness and discomfort. After just a few gentle sessions, the change in her mobility and overall energy was remarkable. Your calm, gentle approach put Luna right at ease from day one. I’m truly grateful for your care!
Lucas · Noosaville
Lisa has been treating my horses for years. I have a lesson barn, so I always make sure my horses are comfortable and moving well, and Lisa’s Bowen treatment is an integral part of that. Lisa has seen all my horses and is excellent at knowing how to help the horse, including horses who may be reluctant at first. I wouldn’t use anyone else for Bowen for my horses.
Chelsea · Weyba Downs
Lisa’s Equine Bowen therapy helped my gelding from being stiff and hesitant to completely relaxed and moving with total ease. Watching him release tension under her gentle touch was great and he is now back to his comfortable, happy self.
